- Accumulator
- A bet that combines several selections into one, with winnings rolling over from each winning selection.
- American Odds
- Odds expressed as a positive or negative number, indicating how much you win on a $100 bet or how much you need to stake.
- Asian Handicap
- A spread betting style that eliminates the draw and gives an advantage or disadvantage to each team.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for betting.
- Cash Out
- An option to settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or minimizing a loss based on current odds.
- Decimal Odds
- A format showing the total return per unit staked, including the original stake.
- Double Chance
- A bet covering two of the three possible outcomes of a match (e.g., home win or draw).
- Draw No Bet
- A bet that refunds the stake if the match ends in a draw, otherwise pays out on the winning team.
- Edge
- The perceived advantage a bettor believes they have over the bookmaker's odds.
- Fractional Odds
- A traditional odds format that shows the profit relative to the stake.
- Futures
- A wager placed on an outcome that will be decided later, such as which team will win the World Cup.
- Half-Time/Full-Time
- A bet predicting both the result at halftime and the final result of the match.
- In-Play
- Same as live betting, referring to odds offered during the match.
- Juice
- Slang for vig, the bookmaker's cut built into the odds.
- Live Betting
- Placing bets on events while the match is in progress, with odds that change as the game unfolds.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match outright, with odds expressed as a positive or negative number.
- Odds
- The likelihood of an outcome expressed as a number, determining the potential payout.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher or lower than a set number.
- Parlay
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out.
- Payout
- The total amount of money returned to the bettor after a winning bet, including the stake.
- Point Spread
- A handicap given to a team to even the chances, requiring the favored team to win by a certain margin.
- Stake
- The amount of money placed on a bet.
- Unit
- A standard measurement of bet size, often a percentage of the total bankroll.
- Vig
- The commission or fee that a sportsbook charges for taking a bet, reflected in the odds.
